About 6,000 Tourists Visit Preah Vihear Temple in June

PREAH VIHEAR: Last month saw a good turnout for some of Cambodia’s most historical sites. The Preah Vihear temple received about 6,000 tourists in June, while the nearby Koh Ker temple complex received about 3,000 visitors.

A press release on tourist statistics released by the Preah Vihear Provincial Authority on June 30 states recorded that from June 1 to 30 2023, the temple of Preah Vihear welcomed a total of 6,214 visitors, including 5,944 Cambodians and 270 foreign tourists. Meanwhile, Koh Ker received a total of 3,317 national visitors.

UNESCO added Cambodia's Preah Vihear Temple to its World Heritage List on July 7, 2008 during its 32nd session in Quebec City, Canada. July 7 will mark the 15th anniversary of Preah Vihear as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
